Sorry it has been so long since my last update but I really have been busy building bridges. I have had many opportunities to get the word out about The My Friend Campaign and I have taken every one of them. The relationships we have established and are building just in the last few months have been nothing short of unparalleled. Jerry T. Daniels: A Voice of Hope

Born in Evansville, Indiana on February 1, 1957, Jerry grew up in an extremely diversified environment which included attending six different elementary schools and three separate high schools, all within the city of Evansville.  By way of a broken home, a dysfunctional family life, abandonment and abuse, Jerry matured through the instability of the life of a suburban gypsy, as a ward of the courts, until he was 18 years old.  After years of employment in management and sales, Jerry realized that hope was not only what he expressed in everything, but it was who he had become – hope personified!  Encouragement, through hope, became his primary mission and he has been fulfilling his destiny all across America. 

Jerry is a veteran singer/songwriter, well established within the melting pot of Southern Indiana’s Americana heritage; actively performing his acoustic guitar-fueled original songs.  His added gift of public speaking is carried out in a structured and deliberate manner with the intentions of informing, influencing and entertaining his listeners.  His communication skills range from merely transmitting information or simply telling a story, to motivating people to act.  Whether it is motivation, influence, informing, or simply entertaining, Jerry’s gifts always arouse people to positive and productive action.  

The central core of Jerry’s talents and the expression of them are rooted in being a passionate follower of Jesus the Christ.  As a direct result of this faith he became an ordained pastor and in 1999 he became the founder and senior pastor of Christian Development Center. In March of 2006 Jerry Founded Jerry Daniels Ministries (JDM). Jerry has also established the “My Friend Campaign”, a faith-based, ecumenical, non-profit organization that encompasses community awareness and referrals, dedicated to the prevention of suicide by bridging together the programs and professionals available within the tri-state area.

The My Friend CD is finally ready. Timing, timing, timing - and it certainly wasn't up to us as much as it was fate and the message we are so adamantly about. Proceeds benefit the CAMPAIGN. Shipping and handling cost is $1.00 per CD.

January 23, 2009 - Hope, Help and Happiness are brewing!!!

Sometimes you just know when you are doing the right thing; this happens to be one of those times for all of us here working on the "my friend" campaign. We now have a solid team of 36 volunteers including the board members. What an exciting response to such important work. Our Board will meet very soon and not long after that all the team members will be contacted with the latest directives. So just keep reminding yourself: “Together and Aware We CAN Fight Despair!”

October 10, 2008 - The entire project is almost here!!!

The new album is in manufacturing, the t-shirts are being re-created and bid out, the advertising blitz is about to kick in, event staff is being recruited, concert rehearsals are in full swing and the anticipation is building as the threshold is upon us. Exciting huh? It should be evident to all of us that there has never been a more perfect time in our culture to share the message of hope. God’s time really is the right time. Get ready! And check out our brand new music player which we will up-date with new sound bites, cd tracks, and rare recordings as the weeks go by.

Greetings, I hope everyone is having an awesome summer. Although the process has been slower than anticipated it has also been much more productive. The excitement continues to build as more and more people become aware and get involved in the preparation for the CD release and the entire “My Friend Campaign.” The foundation being built has the capacity to affect many more people than we originally thought possible. Hope is about to be let loose! Please stay tuned as we march closer.

February 21, 2008 - Bridging the Gap Between the Heart and the Mind

Can psychiatry, psychology mental health counseling and therapy actually and practically work in conjunction with the teachings of Jesus Christ? Does the science of promoting a healthy mental life conflict with the theologically regarded heart life of a true follower of Jesus? Yes to the first and no to the second. As it is written in Isaiah 1:18 & 41:21: “Come now, and let us reason together. ‘Present your case,’ the LORD says.”

In consideration of the example set by Jesus Christ and in taking careful thought to understand His instructions, as recorded in the Holy Bible, it is evident that He wants humankind to comprehend and apply the truth that a healthy mind leads to complete wholeness. (Philippians 4:8, 2 Timothy 2:7-8, Matthew 5:48, Matthew 22:37, Deuteronomy 6:5, Mark 12:30, Luke 24:45, Romans 7:25, 8:5-6, 12:2, 1 Corinthians 2:16, Ephesians 4:23, Philippians 2:5, Colossians 3:2, 2 Timothy 1:7, Hebrews 8:10, 10:16, 1 Peter 1:13...among many others.)

Mental Health Professionals analyze, diagnose and treat human nature according to certain specific laws and procedures that are well authenticated within moral and ethical codes. Disciples of Jesus Christ also operate under a system of techniques and formulas designed for the understanding and treatment of human nature according to certain specific laws and procedures that are well authenticated within moral and ethical codes. The reality of working together can be authenticated through perceiving the science of possible application in the structure of teamwork.

There are reasons why we do the negative things we do and it is vital to the goal of living in mental health that more of us discover these reasons in order to establish comprehensive productive therapy, treatment, and recovery. It is apparent that Mental Health Professionals and Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ working together as a team will facilitate a more urgent and increased participation in the prevention of suicide. Each of us can perform our own functions in total cooperation in order to promote life and living it in the pursuit of complete wholeness.

If there is any such thing as degrees of the violation of divine law, then our deepest and darkest sin is that of not doing everything we possibly can within our collective powers to help prevent self-destruction. Unity in purpose is the only way to bridge the gap between the heart and the mind.

Happy New Year to everyone - I hope you all have a joyous and blessed New Year. Myself, as well as my friends and family, are very excited for everything 2008 has in store, especially the release of my new album "My Friend". While the offical release date has not been decided - many songs are completed and we are looking at Spring Release Party! The CD layout and artwork have been completed - everything looks amazing - really can't wait to share it with everyone.
